The Source & The Cause
Before you can begin the repair process, you need to correctly diagnose the source of your pain. However, unless you suffered trauma from an outside force (ie. car accident or football tackle) the most important part of your diagnosis is identifying the cause of your pain.
Example – A right handed pitcher with right shoulder pain may have left hip tightness. Instead of the normal movement and energy transfer he/she has to over-rely on the right shoulder to pitch. Treating only the right shoulder will resolve the issue until he/she goes back to pitching again, then there will be a relapse because to cause of the problem was never identified.
At BioMechanics, we utilize advanced orthopedic methods to diagnose the source of your pain. Occasionally, x-rays or an MRI are required to rule out conditions that would be more appropriately treated by a surgeon. If we stopped here we would get the same kind of results as every other chiropractor and physical therapy clinic in Chicago. What sets us apart is how we diagnose the cause….
How We Get To The Cause
BioMechanics uses a standardized series of movement screening and/or assessment that has revolutionized how professional athletes in every major sport are treated.
